Poor Boy's Garden Center & Signature Landscapes serves the greater Baltimore, Maryland (MD) and surrounding areas with high quality plants, water gardens, expert landscape design and installation services.
Our Garden Center operates seasonally to provide you with colorful bedding plants and flowers, hardy perennials, landscape grade trees and shrubs, aquatic plants plus everything you'll need to help them grow more beautiful with each passing season.

Thinking Greener...
Throughout our store, you will find a tag pointing out different products and plants that are more earth friendly than others. Anywhere you see this sign, you’ll know that you are making the “greener” choice (although not necessarily organic). Even if you’ve never worried about the environment before, why not use a pesticide or herbicide that is safer around kids and pets? It’ll be safer for you too!
We here at Poor Boy’s know that as a business in the horticulture industry, we have a huge impact on the environment. We have partnered with the Herring Run Watershed project.
Along with offering more earth friendly products, Poor Boy’s has opted to help the environment thru many other initiatives, including:
- Participating in the Baltimore County Growing Home Campaign. We are working to help increase Baltimore’s tree canopy thru education and money-saving coupons when you purchase approved trees. Click here for a tree list. >
- Buying our plants from local growers. This supports local businesses and burns less fuel!
- Using less energy to heat our gift store. The pellet stove in our gift store uses much less electricity than traditional heating methods.
- Using Christmas tree netting that is made of 100% soy. Biodegradable and earth-friendly.
For Your Trees and Shrubs
- Fertilize flowering trees and shrubs such as rhododendrons, azaleas, and other broadleaf evergreens after blooming. This is also the best time to prune, before next year's buds have set.
